Puma Has Partnered with English Soccer Powerhouse Manchester City

Puma has partnered with English soccer powerhouse Manchester City to create a sustainability pledge. The soccer club is currently the most buzzing topic in Europe, sitting atop the Barclays Premier League standings with 89 points.

Together the brands aim to reduce waste and promote recycling. The team wore 100% recycled uniforms during its game against Watford. Materials were shredded, dissolved, filtered, and polymerized to create these jerseys. They were then chopped into tiny pieces and melted before being knit and dyed.

"Both Manchester City and Puma have made significant commitments to their respective sustainability agendas that ensure both social and environmental actions work for long-term, tangible change," said Pete Bradshaw, director of sustainability at Manchester City.

Currently, it is unknown if the team will be selling these recycled jerseys for fans to wear.
