Bulletproof Origami Shields

This Bulletproof Police Barrier is Lightweight and Protective

Police officials require an effective means of protection when taking on dangerous criminals, which is exactly what's offered with this bulletproof police barrier. Created by a team of designers at Brigham Young University (BYU), the barrier works to provide a lightweight piece of protection that will offer resistance against powerful blasts of bullets.

The barrier is designed with 12 layers of kevlar material that's bulletproof in nature and inherently lightweight which makes the police barrier capable of being implemented in just five-seconds at most. The barrier weighs in at 55-pounds, which makes it roughly half the weight of traditional steel-based barriers. It can safely protect two to three people at once and, best of all, incorporates Japanese origami folding techniques that make it easy to store.
