Sony has officially unveiled the final design of its highly anticipated Virtual reality (VR) headset, the PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2). The first PSVR headset had a PlayStation-inspired design that incorporated black, white, and blue colors with a futuristic design. The PSVR2 on the other hand, takes more inspiration from the design of the 'Meta Quest 2.'
The PSVR2 has two holdable controllers, each with a joystick and several buttons. These controllers have a protective plastic barrier around them to prevent VR users from hurting their hands on objects they cannot see. The first PSVR had two lightstick-like controllers, so the PSVR2 controllers are a clear improvement on usability. The design of the PSVR2 matches the PS5 in its main use of white panels with black trims and accents.
The PlayStation VR2 costs $399 USD, which is quite affordable in the VR space.
