Product Discovery Codes

Pinterest's 'Pincodes' Will Appear in Stores and on Product Packaging

Pinterest is now introducing 'Pincodes' as a new way for consumers to easily discover new ideas from product packaging, in-store displays and more.

When a Pincode is spotted, a Pinterest user may open the platform's application and tap to use the in-app camera. From there, users will be instantly directed to pins, curated boards and other ideas on the site. Nordstrom will now be using Pincodes in select stores and Kraft Heinz will be incorporating them into its food product packaging. Kia and REAL SIMPLE are also among the companies that will be experimenting with Pinterest's Pincodes.

Inspired by the usefulness of Snapchat's Snapcodes, a number of brands have created their own codes to make sharing easy. Earlier this year, Spotify unveiled Spotify Codes to help friends and artists easily share music.
