As temperatures dropped down to frigid and bitter coldness, Los Angeles-based landscape photographer Jeff Lewis went to the Yosemite National Park in California to capture picturesque and surreal photographs of Yosemite in the wintertime.
Using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR, he documents a stunningly short series of landscape photographs of the Yosemite valleys. The result of his pictures makes it seem like the viewer is staring into the landscape of a snow globe. The incredibly sublime pictures feature snow fall set against a snow covered background.
In the midst of a snowstorm, Lewis describes how he came to the idea of photographing this series "in the middle of a snowstorm that [he] considered taking a photo of the snow falling over the valley," claiming that it took him a while to set the scene up that would photograph falling snow set against a monumental landscape.
