Atypical Iconic Alligator Logos

Peter Saville Puts an Abstract Spin on the Iconic Lacoste Gator

Graphic designer Peter Saville has put a unique twist on the iconic Lacoste alligator for the holiday season. The French fashion brand approached Saville about redesigning a line of polo shirts. Instead of radically changing the look of the shirt, the graphic designer chose to remix the alligator that sits on the shirt. The result is a series of designs that run from highly abstract to incredibly accurate.

Many of Saville’s Lacoste alligators look normal, albeit with a slight twist here or there. However, the best drawings are the ones that are offbeat. There are ones that consist solely of lines, squiggles and dots. If the designs weren’t on a Lacoste polo, you wouldn’t be able to tell what they’re of. Peter Saville’s shirts will be available in the brand’s Holiday Collector no. 8 range.
