Periscope Glasses by Dominic Wilcox Were Designed for Shorter People

Dominic Wilcox, a London-based designer, created the periscope glasses to allow shorter people to see one foot above their usual field of vision. The idea was born from Wilcox's observations that smaller individuals couldn't see bands at music events.

The periscope glasses let users see about 30.5 centimeters above their eye level, increasing their line of vision. The project was created thanks to a challenge by Microsoft Surface to create a solution for a quotidian problem. Wilcox elaborated, stating "This gave me the idea to design a way for people to see over obstacles such as six-foot-plus people like me. It works well, though dancing with it on might be a challenge!" This new device is created from mirrored acrylic that has been angled to reflect the mirror in front of the user's eyes.

This simple solution could greatly benefit many shorter individuals to get the most out of music concerts.
