Aluminum Floral Brooches

Staerk's RTW Fall Collection is Based on a Patti Smith Performance

I love this stylish, raw and sensitive look by New York based designer Stærk. The oversized aluminum floral brooches that are pinned onto gowns, belts and jackets add a really cool edginess to the sexy look.

These elegant petal brooches are made by Japanese designer Shinji Nakaba and work wonders on Stærk’s dark and slightly moody styles, which were sent down the runway at New York Fashion Week yesterday. Apparently the Danish designer was inspired by a Patti Smith performance and got hooked on looking at Robert Mapplethorpe’s portraits of Patti, a reference which you can see clearly in these shots above.
