Sustainable Forest Homes

Passive House Che is Located In a Romanian Forest

Passive House Che is a sustainable home, designed by Tecto Architectura, that is located in a forest in the Romanian city of Suceava. This house offers an array of sustainability features, but is quite unique that it has a large net suspended between its floors, as well as an indoor lawn. The net lounge hangs above the lawn and is intended to be a place where residents can relax and play.

The building is equipped with a green roof that helps insulate it; the roof is angled, effectively increasing the size of the sunlight-facing window during winter. Passive House Che is also sheathed with Vaporproof membranes designed to protect against condensation in the summer and help speed up drying in the winter.

Construction of the house began in 2009 and was completed last year.
