Cartoon-Mimicking Mascots

The Partick Thistle Football Club Has Unveiled a Bright Yellow Mascot

The new mascot for Scotland's Partick Thistle football club resembles a bright yellow half sun that also looks somewhat similar to the popular cartoon character Lisa Simpson of The Simpsons.

The mascot named ‘Kingsley’ was created by Turner Prize winner David Shrigley. Kingsley is an all-yellow animated character that resembles a rising sun popping over the horizon with a very cartoon-illustrated face. Kingsley's face features two different sized white eyes sitting below a black uni-brow with an open mouth revealing four spaced out teeth.

Partick Thistle's commercial sponsor is Kingsford Capital Management, which is why the mascot was given the name Kingsley. This is also the reason why the mascot is a hybrid of the Kingsford Capital Management logo of a sun and Scotland's National flower, which is a thistle. This mascot will certainly brighten up the arena on game days!
