Parade by Dpt. and Laurent Craste Focuses on Playful Shadows

Parade by Dpt. and Laurent Craste, a digital agency and ceramacist who have partnered up for the Chromatic festival in Montreal, Canada, is an interactive art installation. It revolves around a set of porcelain vases that will bring to mind the candlestick, Lumiere, and teapot, Mrs. Potts, from 'Beauty and the Beast.' With the power of light and shadow, they are brought to life.

Essentially, with the help of a hanging industrial light as well as their mishapen forms, Parade by Dpt. and Laurent Craste makes the porcelain vases look as though they are dancing into the wee hours of the night. This is Colossal writes, "Dpt. explains further that the animated "shadows" are coming from a hidden projector which tracks the movements of the faux light source."
