Squat Cage Seats

Shawn Place's Owl and Bird Chairs are Full of Animal Characteristics

At first glance, you might not be able to tell exactly why the Owl and Bird Chairs are named after animals; upon closer inspection, however, you'll see telltale characteristics on these seats that resemble our feathery friends. Looking at the former, you'll note the squat roundness of an owl and that the latter is long and leggy like a bird.

Designed by Canadian designer and woodworker Shawn Place, the Owl and Bird Chairs were exhibited during the Interior Design Show 2011 in Toronto.
