When taking apart a handset, designer Chengyuan Wei was shocked at the amount of excess, unnecessary material in the standard mobile device. This extra material meant that household handsets created clutter due to their bulky designs, and also did not efficiently cater to the phones' users. He aimed to create an extremely minimalist mobile, and his final creative conceptual design is just that. The Origami Handset is an extremely thin, flat surface when not in use, and quickly snaps into a three-dimensional telephone when answered. The design is a very clean, angular one, resembling an origami paper creation.
