Lexus has created some pretty spectacular and innovative cars over the years, but few are quite as peculiar and eye-catching as the Origami Car. This vehicle is an accurate life-size version of the Lexus IS saloon but with one minor exception -- it's made of 1,700 cardboard sheets, not regular car construction materials.
This vehicle is a pretty spectacular achievement because it's actually fully driveable. Built on a steel and aluminum frame, the Cardboard Car is powered by an electric motor that is capable of moving it forward and backward. It also has a completely fitted interior, fully functioning doors, headlights and wheels, all formed from layered sheets of cardboard.
The Origami Car was created in partnership with LaserCut Works and Scales and Models, and while you shouldn't expect to be able to drive a Cardboard Car of your own anytime soon, you can still marvel at the ingenuity of this publicity stunt vehicle's design.
