Humboldt Distillery Releases the Limited-Edition 'Organic Apple Brandy'

Humboldt Distillery is launching a new ‘Organic Apple Brandy,’ a small-batch release with a limited quantity of bottles available. The spirit is fragrant, with a mild fruit taste and a trace of sweetness reminiscent of apple juice boxes. Humboldt's Organic Apple Brandy is prepared from a blend of barrels ranging in age from 2 to 5 years, with the bulk of casks beginning as repurposed bourbon barrels from Sonoma Distilling Company. The company incorporates 20 pounds of apples for each bottle of its ‘Organic Apple Brandy,’ sourcing them from local fruit orchards and agriculture farms.

"There’s no single reason we decided to produce our Organic Apple Brandy, but rather a few reasons — one being it’s a tasty spirit that I really enjoy myself," said Abe Stevens, Humboldt Distillery founder and head distiller. "It’s made with familiar ingredients that are grown locally. Apple brandy has a long, storied history in the U.S., and it’s currently not produced in any significant quantity by any of the big liquor brands, so for us it was the perfect spirit to add to our portfolio."
