Open Farm Launches an Online Carbon Tool for Pet Food Products

With Open Farm’s "carbon experience," pet owners can track the carbon-emitting footprint of the brand’s products across its portfolio. With the new feature, pet parents can consider reducing their carbon footprint when choosing a pet food by offering them the information they need to make informed decisions. The brand is also using this launch to promote its low-carbon plant-based kibble called Kind Earth.

An independent third-party expert collaborated with Open Farm to finish a screening-level LCA. By examining each stage of the product life cycle, including the production of ingredients, manufacturing process, shipping, and packaging, the LCA screening technique was created to estimate the emissions produced by each of Open Farm's goods for consumer knowledge.
