One Central Park Sydney is Set to Be the World’s Tallest Vertic

Botanist Patrick Blanc and architectural firm Ateliers Jean Nouvel are turning One Central Park Sydney into the world’s largest vertical garden. Blanc is bringing greenery to the mixed-use building set to be completed in January 2014. One Central Park Sydney 544 feet and will be home to apartments, offices, shops, cafes and restaurants.

The garden will be home to an impressive number of plants, including 190 species that are native to Australia and 160 species that are not. Perhaps the most awesome feature of the structure is its heliostat. During the day the heliostat will be used to reflect sunlight onto plants. Artist Yann Kersalé will control it at night, using it to create LED art.
