'On the Head and Neck' Explores the Spirit of Berets and Bow-Ties

Hats and scarves are inevitably worn in public purely as accessories, but 'On the Head and Neck' is an editorial that explores the power these pieces have on their own.

The April 2011 issue of Dazed & Confused for Korea features the charming Choi A Ra, photographed from the chest up, and free from all fashion distractions aside from her fabulous embellishments. Wide-brim hats and bonnets, berets, bow-ties, neckerchiefs, necklaces and fascinators give the girl an enchanting appeal, flushed with bright colors, bold patterns and flamboyant forms. Each garment was chosen with the help of stylist Shin Kim, giving photographer Suk-Muyun a selection of playful props to work with.

'On the Head and Neck' offers a perspective of each piece as the focal point on the model's person, and with such extraordinary elements as these embellishments, these adornments hardly look like they could be overshadowed.
