The Conceptual 'OMIT' Vacuum Cleaner is Powered by Turning

The conventional vacuum cleaner can be cumbersome to use on a consistent basis to keep a living space clean, so the conceptual 'OMIT' vacuum cleaner has been designed as a way to make the process easier for users.

The vacuum cleaner maintains a handheld design that is free from cords and battery packs, and doesn't require any charging in order to be used. The unit instead requires turns of the built-in knob that will be converted to suction power, which enables five turns of the knob to be used for 10-seconds of cleaning for quick spot treatments around the home.

The conceptual 'OMIT' vacuum cleaner is the design work of Hiroyuki Morita and utilizes the Free Wheel Principle, which was explained further by the designer: "In order to make spinning more easy and stable, I added torque spring and planetary gear. The combination makes small action translate to big number of spins. When I found the principle, I designed the optimal component layout which defined the minimal shape."
