Whimsical Icy Lamps

The Obelia1 Light by Barry Magazinovic Looks Like a Wintry Plant

The Obelia1 Light is a whimsical creation inspired by forms found in nature. In this case, it happens to be particularly influenced by a cross between a plant and an icicle--perhaps even foliage in winter. Complete with metal leaves that move upwards to create a soft glow that hits the ceiling rather than the floor, the Obelia1 Light is a table lamp that will add a sculptural presence to any home.

Designed by Barry Magazinovic, the Obelia1 Light made its debut at during London Design Week at the Common Wealth exhibition of young Australian designers at the Habitat store in Chelsea. Made out of folded flat sheet paper, plastic and metal, it is a combination of curves and geometric patterns interlocked without the need of adhesives.
