Tube-Riddled Seating

The Nouveau Lounge by Kate McCreary is Inspired by the Art Nouveau Era

Although the Nouveau Lounge is inspired by the Art Nouveau period that was prevalent between 1890 and 1905, it also has an arts-and-crafts aesthetic to it that has very much to do with the tubelike materials used. Playful yet sophisticated, this is definitely a singular seating design.

Considering that the Nouveau Lounge is made out of a comfortable foam that has been upholstered in Italian gray wool with a neon green, handmade steel frame, it's no surprise that it is one stylish chair.

Created by American designer Kate McCreary, the Nouveau Lounge was unveiled during this year’s Model Citizens NYC 2011 Exhibition. Encapsulating the Art Nouveau’s essence of movement and luxury, it is an eye-catching piece of furniture, which surely made it one of the standout designs during the exhibit.
