Morrisons, the fourth largest chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom, recently announced the launch of the new plant-based pigs in a blanket treat. The brand wittily named the product 'No Pigs in Blankets' and is the perfect dish to enjoy during the festive holidays. Morrisons Party Food Expert, Leanne Walters, said: "Pigs in blankets are one of the UK’s favorite Christmas treats so we have created a meat-free version that can be enjoyed by vegans or anybody else."
The No Pigs in Blankets are made using chickpeas and jackfruit to replicate a meat-like texture. They are wrapped in a crispy steaky pastry in order to mimic the pastry's appearance. Consumers can purchase the treats starting November 27th in packs of 10 for £2.50.
