Haunted House Living

Home In Connecticut Isn't Living Up to Spooky Movie Hype

Even though "The Haunting in Connecticut" doesn’t open until this weekend, a Connecticut family is suffering because of the legend that surrounds their house. Movie buffs can’t separate fact from fiction, and it’s causing the neighborhood some concern.

Virginia Madsen and Kyle Gallner star in the flick which is loosely based on urban legend that surrounds a Southington home which used to be a funeral parlor.

Susan Trotta-Smith, who bought the house with her husband a decade ago, said "It’s just been really, really stressful. It’s been a total change from a very quiet house in a very quiet neighborhood to looking out the window and seeing cars stopping all the time. It’s been very, very stressful, and sometimes worrisome."

Ghostbusters and paranormal experts have all toured their home and found nothing unusual.
