New Plastic Dissolves in Sea Water

Billions of plastic bags and waste are produced every year for a very short term of usage, but with quite a long life, and when they degrade they result in very toxic products. In some countries plastic bags are not allowed, but as this doesn't happen in most countries, for now let's hope this new plastic that degrades in seawater helps to make the world a little bit cleaner.

How? Well, this new plastic just degrades in 20 days and results on byproducts that are non toxic. There are currently many groups working on the development of this kind of plastic, but the first ones to get results have been the scientists at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM).
