From February 19th until May 15th, 2022, the San Francisco Museums of Modern Art (also known as SFMOMA) held a Neri Oxman exhibition that surely took many visitors' breaths away. Neri Oxman is a well-known architect, designer, and visionary who explores the use of unexpected biological matter through design. She also was the founder of The Mediated Matter Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The Neri Oxman exhibition at the SFMOMA is called 'Nature x Humanity: Oxman Architects.' Curated by Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher, the event covered many of the celebrated architect's most provocative concepts. This included Oxman's work with Hybrid Living Materials—which manifests itself in the melanin-filled 'Totems'—and her vision for the future through 'Man-Nahāta,' an urban study model that was debuted for the first time at the SFMOMA exhibition.
