Multicolored Geometric Exhibits

The ‘Nature of Need' Installation is Angular

The American artist KAWS will unveil his ‘Nature of Need’ exhibit at the Hong Kong Galerie Perrotin on May 15th. Mixing an eclectic assortment of yellow, red and blue geometric shapes, these artistic renditions have built upon a creative angular theme.

The majority of KAWS’ work is based in New York City, fusing his style with the metropolis’ urban street work, frequently characterized by colorful displays of asymmetrical designs. The KAWS pieces are different in their portrayal of giant X’s, strewn across bright bulging eye balls and various square figures.

This X trait of the Nature of Need series is surprising, and in part responsible for the collection’s exclusivity and almost-taboo vibe. These shapely images are also shaded, providing the illusion of 3-dimensional density on a 1-dimensional plane. These canvas-bound factors are all exceptional, and will no doubt accord the Hong Kong installation with speedy notoriety.
