Nasa Neemo Marks its 14th Underwater Mission

The NASA Neemo project, aka NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations, is an undersea laboratory that is stationed three miles off of Key Largo and is designed to mirror the types of experiences astronauts face in space.

The diving suits the astronauts use at NASAs Neemo can also be adjusted to parallel space experiences, reflecting the "one-sixth gravity of the moon" and "the three-eighths gravity of Mars." Communication is also lagged around 20 minutes, which is about the time that would elapse before communication on Mars. So cool!
Trend Themes
