Instagram is Testing a Music Feature That Users Can Add to Their Story

Instagram is testing a music feature that can be used to enhance a person's story. The company named the music feature 'Instagram Reels,' and it gives users the ability to create a 15-second video with music in the background. The platform will also enable users to directly share the video to their story. Instagram will launch the feature for both Android and iOS devices, however, the test will be limited to users in Brazil.

Instagram will also have a Top Reels section, where viral Reels can be found in the Explore page.

Robby Stein, the Instagram director of product management, spoke on the new feature, "The focus has been on how to make this a unique format for us. Your friends are already all on Instagram. I think that’s only true of Instagram."
