Selling Phones with Confusion

Motorola Ming 8 GPS Ads Poke Fun at Bad Direction

While Alfer used transsexual and theft scarevertising to get you to buy their GPS units, Motorola takes a different approach to promote their GPS-enabled smartphone, Ming8.

Have you ever been lost and received contradictory answers when you asked people for directions? Yup, we’ve all been there. And that is what this Motorola ad campaign by O & M ad agency (Beijing, China) uses to sell you their phone.

Instead of relying on people pointing in all sorts of directions, which surely won’t get you where you want to be, you can use your Motorola Ming 8’s GPS and know exactly where you are and which direction you need to go to reach your destination.

The campaign’s creative team includes photographer Zhou Yu Long, creative director Wilson Nils, art director Rain Yu and copywriter Chen Ning.
