Mother-Daughter Drawings

Artist Ruth Oosterman Fleshes Out Her Daughters Black and White Doodles

The mother-daughter drawings of Ruth and Eve Oosterman will melt people's hearts. Yet the collaborative artworks are not as childlike as people might first expect. First of all, the initial doodles created by Eve are very abstract and done completely in black and white. Like a Rorschach ink blot, Ruth fleshes out each of the doodles by interpreting the images her own way. As a result, the mother-daughter drawings are born out of pure imagination.

Shared on Ruth's blog, The Mischievous Mommy, the mother-daughter drawings are sure to evolve as Eve grows older. It will be interesting for fans to see the evolution of their artworks over time. Ruth reveals, "I feel so blessed that my daughter can remind me once again what it is to paint like a child by letting me see through her eyes."
