Toreador-Inspired Styles

Moschino Spring/Summer 2012 Shows Off the Best of Mediterranean Fashion

Moschino has always been synonymous to eccentric designs in the fashion world, especially when it comes to jackets, and the toreador fashion from the Moschino Spring/Summer 2012 presentation at Milan Fashion Week does not disappoint.

The key inspiration of the collection is traditional Mediterranean men's and women's garments from Spain and Italy. Creative director Rossella Jardini started the show with various pantsuits in full toreador style. The seemingly masculine ensembles were diluted with bright, pretty gowns and mid- and floor-length skirts that proposed a rejuvenated look of Italian great-grannies. While red might be the color that springs to your mind when you think of bull fights, Moschino's interpretation is based on black, white, gold and yellow.

But don't be fooled by the exaggerated styling and the curious male and female headpieces; most of the Moschino Spring/Summer 2012 garments are young, feminine and unique but not extravagant, like a toreador in real life.
