DIY Tiled Art Homes

The Mosaic House

I love this house in Santa Monica. It is so unusual and has a really happy vibe about it. The Mosaic House is the home of artists Cheri Pann and Gonzalo Duran. Starting in 1994 they have transformed their home tile by tiny tile - inside and out.

It could be hideous, but you know what, it works. The mosaic is created using mirror shards, broken tile and garage sale pieces.

Cheri Pann and Gonzalo Duran will let you see the house in person if you like--just make an appointment first, and then you can go on down and check it out.
