Body Bag Couture

Morbid Fashion Heads from the Funeral Parlor to the Runway

As if we were not reminded enough of our own mortality, some haute couture designers seem hell-bent on making sure we never forget that we are all gonna kick the bucket some day; that’s where "body bag" fashion factors in.

Coined by Trend de la Creme, "body bag" couture describes fashion that’s boxy, oversized and above all, black.

The gallery gives us a contained view of some creepy designs that some may find original and edgy while others may deem cringe-worthy.

The creepy creations of the eccentric, flamboyant designer Maison Martin Margiela are dully represented in the gallery, as are the quaint designs of Moncler Gamme Bleu, Comme des Garçons and Giambattista Valli among others.

How bizarre.
