Emotional Meal Apps

This Facial Recognition App Utilizes Mood Mapping to Make Food Suggestions

Facial recognition software has been used for a number of applications, including biometric payments, robotic household assistants and now mood mapping food suggestions. Developed by El Bulli chef Ferran Adria, experimental psychologist Charles Spence and food delivery service Just Eat, the technology recommends the best food depending on your emotional state.

The yet to launch mood mapping app is designed to detect emotions, suggesting foods that will make the user feel better. It can register emotions such as anger, anxiety, fear and joy and will offer corresponding meals.

This allows users to not only take care of themselves physically, but emotionally as well. This sort of technology could also give restaurants more comprehensive data, or be paired with grocery delivery services.
