The Montblanc Wedding Pen is a Tribute to Royals

Montblanc is not a company that shies away from extravagant and luxurious writing utensils. The Montblanc Wedding Pen was created as a tribute and wedding gift to H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, who were married on July 1, 2011. The pen was created by Montblanc worker Atelier Hamburg and contains extremely detailed designs that encircle the solid white gold fountain pen.

"There is a very, very short moment, when you have the idea for the design," says Montblanc creative director Carlo Giordanetti. "It is like falling in love – you cannot plan or measure it, but you have to make it happen."

The incredible 128 diamonds and 161 rubies in the Montblanc Wedding Pen are a special tribute to Monaco, whose flag colors are red and white. If that wasn't enough, the pen is very intricately engraved with a dove, rings and a crown, making it a true work of art.
