Artist Giles Revell creates these unusual artworks using scanning electron microscopes and digital technology.
First he makes up to 500 high-resolution scans of various sections of the insects, then he merges the images and gives them 'hand-finished' enhancements.
The end result is these striking 8 ft high monochromatic photographs that depict amazing detail of the insects.
