Do you ever tire of receiving answers to your questions in abbreviations, misspellings and poor grammar via text message? Through a personal initiative called Modern Day Snail Mail, Cristina Vanko set out to communicate with her friends in a much more attentive way. While they were sending her messages that were quickly typed with smartphone keyboards, Vanko responded with lovely hand-written notes.
It was the discovery of her dad's old calligraphy pen that inspired Modern Day Snail Mail. The designer began replying to SMSs with ink on bits of paper and taking snapshots to send them as picture messages. In the process, Cristina realized that she was putting more thought into what she'd say through the medium and consistently using proper English as well.
