For her latest project, 'Model-Maison,' photographer Cybele Malinowski ventured into the homes of international models and shot them amongst their personal belongings.

Typically, models are tasked with the difficult job of becoming a commercialized fantasy object. No one cares who the model is. They care what she represents in the fantasy. Wealth. Success. Sexuality. Perfection. In an editorial or advertisement, the model's single job is to shed her distinctive identity and personal style for the sake of fulfilling the client's vision.

Malinowksi's series gives the models the rare opportunity to be themselves. The Australian fashion photographer doesn't go into each home with a fixed idea of what she wants to do. Rather, she gets to know the girls over hair and makeup, and lets the shoot unfold organically from there.
