Sony's Mocopi System is Expanding to the American Market

Sony recently announced that its progressive Mocopi motion-tracking system will be hitting the markets in North America soon. The system allows users to control digital avatars in real-time using full bodily movements. In order to achieve this, the technology relies on six motion sensors as well as a proprietary smartphone app.

Additionally, the body movement that is translated can also be used and applied to videos and other three-dimensional animations as well through an SDK that imports motion data to other affiliated software. This is mostly used for Vr purposes such as social apps including VRChat. It also has the ability to extend to creative projects such as filmmaking as well. Sony notes that it is currently expanding partners to develop more unique services.
