Tweeting Objects

This MIT Media Lab Project Allows Objects to Send Digital Alerts

'Twine' is a MIT Media Lab project designed to give ordinary objects the power to Tweet, Text and Email. Twine is embedded with numerous sensors like moisture and vibration detectors as well as temperature sensitivity. This gives the chance for you to schedule updates for events like when a visitor is at the front door, when the laundry is done or if your basement has flooded.

Twine is powered by two AAA batteries and when these need replacing, Twine is capable of notifying you. By giving ordinary items the ability to connect to you digitally, these reminders could be extremely helpful for household maintenance and chores.

The Kickstarter project was met with an unbelievable amount of enthusiasm, enabling the MIT Media Lab to proceed with refinement of Twine prototypes and the integration of even more sensors.
