Subtle Karate Fashion

Mirte Maas Channels Her Inner Martial Artist in Self Magazine's Latest Issue

The art of karate is given a stylish twist thanks to Dutch model Mirte Maas and stylist Lindsey Frugier. The latter created subtle looks inspired by the discipline in order to introduce a different spin on Asian-inspired looks. Although incredibly feminine in dresses and skirts, Mirte Maas also has a powerful energy to her that is channeled via the belts and other karate-inspired accents.

Appearing in the June 2015 issue of Self Magazine, Mirte Maas was shot by photographer Jason Kim. She was clad in fluid silhouettes and clean lines from the likes of Marni, Donna Karan and Isabel Marant. The contemporary black, white and red outfits are complemented with a wind-blown ponytail and smokey eyes by hair stylist Kayla Michele and makeup artist Georgi Sandev. Together, she is effortlessly chic.
