Layered CD Musician Art

Mirco Pagano and Moreno De Turco Render Portraits Using Discs

The Internet is littered with celebrity portraits of all shapes and sizes, but I’m willing to bet few are quite as inventive as the work of Mirco Pagano and Moreno De Turco. Rather than using conventional media, the pair layer CDs on top of one another until fully rendered portraits are made. The CDs they use also belong to the respective artists they are depicting, adding an extra layer of meaning to their creations. I can honestly say these portraits are epic in scope and execution.

Among the artists Mirco Pagano and Moreno De Turco have featured are Bob Marley, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Freddie Mercury, Elvis, James Brown and Michael Jackson. They titled their collection ‘Piracy,’ but I think "legendary" is a more appropriate adjective to describe their work and the musicians in this series.
