Fila's Skele-Toes

Simulating Barefeet

Minimalist footwear mimicking the anatomy of the human foot is the newest trend to come from specialized sports equipment and hit the mainstream market.  Fila has come-up with a shoe conspicuously similar to the Vibram five-fingers dubbed the Skele-toes.

Fila doesn’t claim to have created a competitor for the Vibrams, as their model features a more rigid sole and is meant for every-day use. It features four toe sockets rather than five and a cool skeleton design on the more rigid sole.

The giant billboards that read "what the heck is that" pointing out the strange aspect of the product is no doubt a smooth attention grabber as these might be the strangest looking shoes since the infamous Crock. The shoes come in a wide array of colours for men, women and kids. The specialty toe-shoes certainly have their fan base and weather the look will be a hit with the mainstream market and become a part of regular street-wear remains to be seen.
