These Miniature Houses Pay Homage to Famous Concrete Buildings

Designers Disney Davis and Nitin Barchha have designed a series of miniature houses that honor contemporary concrete structures. While concrete is not often seen as the most glamorous building material, many famous structures have taken this heavy material and have used it to create stunning architectural designs.

Davis and Barchha's collection of shrunken concrete houses is called 'Space' and it was commissioned by the design studio 'Material Immaterial.' The Spaces series features a collection of nine miniature houses, each of which is modeled after a contemporary concrete structure. Some of the replicas are quite simple, while others are extremely detailed. The little buildings pay tribute to the beauty of concrete and honor designs by famous architects such as Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Tadao Ando and Oscar Niemeyer.

The Spaces series ultimately pays tribute to great architecture, while also honoring a highly underrated building material.
