Bike baskets, while adorable (in a retro kind of way), are often limited in terms of what they can carry. Determined to develop a simple solution to this age-old issue, San Francisco-based designer Feris Elmasu came up with a (bungee cord-free) minimalist bike basket.
Elmasu, who is an avid biker himself, explains that he was fed up with what was available in stores, and wanted to create a functional basket that was cleaner than other products on the market. Using just four nylon straps and extremely durable ‘bent’ wood, Elmasu’s product is not only beautiful, but can hold just about anything – even a six pack of beer!
With a neutral colour palette, and a wonderfully user-friendly design, these simple but effective baskets are gaining well-deserved recognition around the web.
