Mimicry by Maurits Giesen and Ilse Leenders are Saturated

The Mimicry Series by Maurits Giesen and Ilse Leender is richly saturated with vibrant palettes and color coordination. The Mimicry collection is comprised of primary and secondary colors, so the series exists of only six pictures. These photographs and every component within them are each a brilliantly solid hue. From deep reds, playful purples, calming blues and minty greens, these photos capture the uniformity present in colors.

The series was inspired by the uniformity of individuals and the growing obsession of society to become just like everyone else. Individuals are encouraged to abandon their personal identity and become just a face in the crowd; it is more beneficial to society when people simply adapt. The individuals in the photographs are dressed in the exact color of the surrounding, making it seem as through they're invisible, or at least part of their surroundings. Individuals are no longer discernible from their surroundings and they have become one and the same.

Similar to chameleons, individuals have adapted to their environment in this case taking on the color of the surrounding buildings.
