Microsoft's "Home of the Future" Gives Us Insight into the Future

The Microsoft "Home of the Future" is a private lab on Microsoft's Redmond, Washington campus where the company’s researchers envision and develop technological products that may furnish the home of an average family of four in the next 3-15 years.

In the video, Channel 9 host Steve Clayton takes us on a Cribs-like tour of the "Home of the Future." In the home, we see a watch that records health information and syncs with a conductive charging device that can give your heart rate, hydration and your activity level in less than a minute. The tour also includes a digital wallpaper that allows you to change your room’s theme based on your mood, displays your text messages, and updates or messages from your social networking accounts.

Microsoft does not guarantee that these products will exist in the next 3-15 years, but their researchers are working on bringing these cutting-edge concepts to fruition. The Microsoft "Home of the Future" is not open to the public, so take a look at our video to get a glimpse of what the future home may look like.
