Sneakmart Launches New Shoe-Focused NFT Platform, Metakicks

French tech startup Sneakmart has announced the launch of Metakicks, a collection of NFT sneakers that arrive hidden in mystery boxes. According to the company, Metakicks was designed to attract sneakerheads to the emerging space of digital-only fashion, where NFTs have become a common commodity.

In addition, Sneakmart intends for the new collection to "bridge the gap" between digital and physical clothing. For example, through the Metakicks app, users will be able to buy and resell NFT sneakers just as they would physical shoes. In doing so, the company is acknowledging that within the current sneaker market, sought-after kicks are seen as status symbols and rarely ever actually worn by their owners.

Metakicks delivers a wide range of 3D animated sneaker silhouettes, all of which present unique cuts, colors, and textures. In total, the company says that there will be 625 pairs of sneakers hidden away in Metakick mystery boxes
