'Cue' Allows Users to Run Medical Diagnostics at Home

Cue is quite simply the most advanced consumer health product to date -- it's a device that allow users to run detailed and precise medical diagnostics from the comfort and privacy of their own home.

The device tests for five fundamental health indicators -- inflammation, vitamin D, fertility, influenza and testosterone. These health indicators were not chosen at random, but were identified as the most common tests run by general practitioners in the US. More tests will likely be rolled out in the future.

Medical diagnostics are undertaken by taking a small sample and loading it into Cue's testing cartridge, which is engineered with the chemistry and microfluid design required to prepare the sample for testing. The sample is then loaded into Cue's sensor unit. The sample varies depending on the type of test -- influenza tests require a nasal swab, testosterone tests call for a saliva sample and a blood sample is required for the other three.

The information obtained from sample analysis is then transmitted to a companion app for iOS and Android devices via Bluetooth 4.0. The process doesn't end there, with the app then offering detailed ideas on how to improve health.
