Infant Sensory Playgrounds

The MAXI-ooh! is an Innovative Learning Area for Babies

Designed by EcoLogicStudio, this innovative concept playground, called MAXI-ooh!, aims to help newborns and young children explore sensory experiences and interaction.

Made for children from the ages of 0 to 5, the MAXI-ooh! playground is created specifically for what the designers call a "Babult" -- that is, the combination of a baby and an adult, which makes up a "unite of playful learning." The Babult, according to Evolvo, is interested in communication and wants to learn by doing, rather than studying or observation. As such, the playground is built in a way so as to enhance the interactive learning experience of the Babult "in a dynamic, intuitive but not-prescriptive way."

The design of the MAXI-ooh! playground includes flowerlike structures hanging from the ceiling and up and down variations in the surface, which create artificial "dunes" and pockets.
